Financial barriers are oftentimes all that stands in the way of an artist’s next critical step in their career. MicroGrants distributes small but impacting funds to emerging and established artists, serving as a catalyst to further their work while living and creating in Williamson County. The opportunity is open to Arts Council of Williamson County (ACWC) members, who are 16 and over and live in Williamson County.
No matter how ambitious or humble the proposal, ACWC MicroGrants aims to support innovative, creative development and momentum in artistic careers.
Artists will submit a single application for consideration of an ACWC MicroGrant, which will be reviewed by ACWC committee members to determination of the grant award and amount. Artists are eligible for only one grant per annual funding cycle. Funds granted will be from $100 to $200.
Please note all grantees will be required to fill out a W-9 tax form.
Artists must be currently living and creating work in Williamson County. Artists of all media are invited to apply. Funding may be applied towards artistic needs small and large, depending on the proposal. ACWC MicroGrants supports ambitious projects that embrace experimentation and focus on process, as well as emerging artist essentials, such as materials, supplies, or professional development. Examples of possible grants: funds used for framing, portfolio completion, entry fees for exhibitions or workshops or classes, etc. Examples of non-awarded grants: using funds to purchasing equipment, capital improvements to a fixed structure, rental fees, computer equipment including software.
Awarded artists must wait 1 grant cycle (1 year) before reapplying to ACWC MicroGrants. Grant projects can start no sooner than April 28, 2017 and no later than May 30, 2018.
