“Volunteers don’t necessarily have time, they have heart” – Elizabeth Andrew
Volunteering is at the very essence of the Arts Council, without a dedicated team of volunteers the goals of the Arts Council wouldn’t be achievable. Ideas, helping hands, expertise in a particular field and time is all you need to become a part of a dynamic and enthusiastic group of dedicated and passionate volunteers.
The Arts as an Economic Driver
Nationally, the arts and culture industry generated $166.3 billion of economic activity during 2015—$63.8 billion by the nation’s nonprofit arts and culture organizations in addition to $102.5 billion in event-related expenditures by their audiences. This economic activity supports 4.6 million full-time jobs. The industry also generates $27.5 billion in revenue to local, state, and federal governments every year—a yield well beyond their collective $5 billion in arts allocations. By every measure, the numbers are impressive.
