Happy Quilt

Happy Quilt

Just as a quilt is a pieced together, so are collaborations. The Arts Council worked with the Davis House Advocacy Center and the Cumberland Valley Quilters Association to create the Happy Quilt.

The squares were drawn and decorated by children receiving services at the Davis House, in addition to students who were performing service work with the Davis House. Art is a powerful medium of communication and this quilt represents the happy feelings that children have when they live in a safe and loving household. The Arts Council is very appreciative of the amazing work and time of quilters who made this true piece of art come to life. If it weren’t for their talents and volunteerism, the Happy Quilt wouldn’t have come to life. The quilt was auctioned during the Davis’ House Legacy Ball on March 5.
